Overview

A long time ago, I mistakenly thought that making cakes requires an oven. Later I learned that a rice cooker can also bake cakes. Later, I learned how to make steamed cakes which was easier to master. I heard that there was a socialite who was born in the Republic of China. After experiencing war and turmoil, she still lived elegantly. She knew how to make chiffon cakes in a coal stove and enjoy afternoon tea. This is probably what true ladies and ladies are like. No matter what environment they are in, they still have the leisurely mind to drink hot tea, taste cakes, and watch the changes. I learned how to make cakes, and from then on my family never bought cakes again. We make our own birthday cakes for my family and me.

  1. Beat the eggs and separate the egg whites and yolks.

  2. Add flour and yogurt to egg yolks and stir. If you like it sweeter, you can add some sugar.

  4. Add sugar to the egg whites in 3 batches and beat with a whisk.

  6. Beat well, as shown in the picture. When the egg beater is turned up, you can see that the egg whites are shaped into a cone.

  7. Mix the egg yolk paste and egg whites several times. Stir up and down slowly with a spoon and do not use force, otherwise it will be easy to eliminate the protein bubbles. You can add raisins, nuts or cheese in this step, it will still be delicious without it.

  9. Pour into the mold, shake gently a few times, and place on the steamer. If you added raisins or nuts in the previous step, you can spoon some egg batter into the mold in this step, and then gently spoon the raisins or nuts onto the egg batter to make it even. The thickness of the egg batter determines the raisins and small nuts in the middle and bottom of the cake.

  10. Place the saucer lid on the cake mold, leaving space for the cake to expand, cover the pot, and steam for 30 minutes.
