Lemon Honey Orange Tea

Lemon Honey Orange Tea

Overview

I like to drink lemon, honey and grapefruit tea, but I feel that the kind sold in supermarkets is not good, so I feel safe making it myself. I couldn't buy grapefruit, so I made orange tea.

Steps

  1. Use salt to wash off the fruit wax on the skin of lemons and oranges. You can use a clean toothbrush to scrub hard. They are really dirty.

  2. Grind the zest from the lemons and oranges, leaving some of the peel and cut into thin strips. Do not rub all of the zest into zest, which can increase the taste. Cut the two kinds of pulp into small pieces and remove the lemon seeds. If you are afraid of the bitterness, you can cut off the white layer under the skin of the lemon and orange. I didn't cut it because I think it can add a little flavor. (Okay, actually it’s because I’m lazy)

  3. Add rock sugar and cook slowly over medium heat. You can add a small amount of water. It doesn't matter if you don't add it because there is a lot of water in the fruit. It will take about 30 minutes.

  4. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally.

  5. Cook until the pulp is very thick and remove from the heat. I like lemon tea to have a fruity taste, so I cut the peel into more shreds and into larger pieces. If you don’t like it, you can cut it less or not.

  6. After cooling, add honey and mix well. The amount of honey should be based on your favorite taste.

  7. Put into a water-free and oil-free airtight container and refrigerate. When drinking, just take it out and rinse it with warm water (the water temperature is best within 80 degrees, water temperature that is too high will destroy the nutrients of honey)!
