Ingredients
Steps
-
Pour water and fine sugar into a pot and bring to a boil, stir to form sugar water, then cool the sugar water and set aside
-
Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl
-
Add condensed milk and honey and mix well
-
Add vegetable oil and stir into a thin paste
-
Mix low-gluten flour and baking soda and sift into the thin batter in step 4
-
Continue stirring with a whisk to form a batter
-
Pour in the cooled sugar water in three batches, stir well each time before adding the next one
-
Cover the mixed batter with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 50 minutes. (Be sure to let it rest, as the batter will quietly undergo some magical changes during this time. Only batter that has rested sufficiently can produce a beautiful honeycomb.)
-
After letting it stand, pour it into the mold. (This can be placed according to your own mold. I like to use this kind of mold and put a paper tray on it. After it is baked, it will be a small honeycomb cake)
-
Put the mold into a preheated oven at 200 degrees and bake for about 25 minutes, until the cake is fully expanded and takes on a caramel color. It is ready to be baked. After cooling slightly, you can see the internal honeycomb structure when cut crosswise.
