Childhood Memories——Candied Haw Lu

Overview

Candied haws on a stick is a traditional snack of the Chinese Han people. It is made by skewering hawthorns with bamboo skewers and dipping them in maltose. Hawthorn can eliminate indigestion, disperse blood congestion, drive away tapeworms, and stop dysentery. It especially helps digestion. It has been an important medicine for eliminating indigestion since ancient times, especially in eliminating meat accumulation.

  8. Don't worry about the pot in which the syrup is boiled being difficult to clean. Add some water, add a few red dates and cook for 10 minutes (I added red date cores, which are used for making bread, and I didn't throw away the remaining red date cores, so I used them wisely).
