Steamed Thousand Layer Cake
Overview
I have always believed that traditional Chinese steamed pasta is very healthy and nutritious. Today I will make a steamed mille-feuille cake that I learned online. It is also called mille-feuille buns. It is very soft and delicious. I want to eat it again.

Steps
-
Take a container and add the measured flour. Take another container, pour warm water into it, add sugar and melt it. Then add the yeast and let it sit for five minutes before pouring in the flour. Knead it into a dough and let it rest for fermentation.
-
Ferment until doubled in size.
-
When the dough is about to ferment, start making the puff pastry. Take a small bowl and add flour, salt, and allspice.
-
Put cooking oil in the pot. When the oil is hot, pour it into a small bowl of flour. Stir evenly and let cool to make a shortbread.
-
Take out the dough and sprinkle a layer of flour on the cutting board to prevent sticking.
-
Shape the dough, roll it into a rectangle, the thinner the better, spread the pastry evenly. Cut four equal-spaced cuts on both sides, then stack them as shown in the picture.
-
After folding, pinch the edges
-
Brush a thin layer of oil on both sides to prevent the bottom from sticking and the top from drying out.
-
Place in a steamer to ferment.
-
Cover and ferment according to temperature.
-
Ferment until doubled in size.
-
Pour enough water into the steamer, put the steamer on it, boil the water over high heat, and then steam over medium heat for about 20 minutes. It tastes good! Very soft and delicate~
