pocket sandwich
Overview
Sandwich, and sandwich are all transliterated through the English word sandwich. Sandwich is a typical Western food. It is made with two slices of bread sandwiched with several slices of meat, cheese, and various seasonings. It is easy to eat and is widely popular in Western countries. The history of Sandwich is almost as old as cake, but it doesn't seem to have a specific name at first. There is an interesting story about the origin of Sandwich. Sandwich was originally an unknown town in southeastern England. There was an Earl of Sandwich named John Montagu in the town. It was difficult for the servant to serve him food, so he put some dishes, eggs and sausages between two pieces of bread and let him eat while playing cards. Unexpectedly, Montagu was overjoyed when he saw this kind of food, and casually called it a sandwich. When he was hungry, he would shout: "Bring a sandwich!" Other gamblers followed suit and ate sandwiches while playing cards. Soon, sandwich spread throughout the British Isles, to the European continent, and later to the United States.
