First soak the glutinous rice in water for more than four hours.

Take out the soaked glutinous rice and use a food processor to smash it slightly. Here you can use the inching method to grind the glutinous rice. Be careful not to grind it into powder. If you don’t have a food processor, you can crush it with a rolling pin or garlic pestle.

Wash the beaten glutinous rice and set aside

Pour water into the pot and start steaming the glutinous rice. Bring to a boil over high heat and steam for 20 minutes

Take it out after 20 minutes and mash the glutinous rice with a rolling pin or pestle as shown

Add boiled water and continue to mash

Add white sugar, then add some boiled water and continue to mash until combined. As shown in the picture, it is slightly thinner and needs to be steamed after a while, so you need to add an appropriate amount of water so that the steamed texture will be soft and waxy. Continue to steam for 20 minutes.

Soak cranberries in rum or red wine. After soaking until soft, steam them in a pot for 8 to 10 minutes. Take them out

Take out the steamed glutinous rice cake. I use a 6-inch round mold with a loose bottom, cover it with plastic wrap, use a spoon to scoop out the glutinous rice cake and spread it in a thin layer on the bottom of the mold. If it is not easy to operate, just put some cold white on the spoon and it will be easier to use.

After spreading the glutinous rice cake, spread the steamed cranberries evenly.

Spread another layer of glutinous rice cake, and put the remaining cranberries on top, as shown in the picture, be sure to use a spoon to compact it

After covering it with plastic wrap, put it in the refrigerator for more than 30 minutes. Because it is covered with plastic wrap, it can be easily taken out
