Steps
-
Add an appropriate amount of edible alkali to the dough and roll it into a round cake, and sprinkle with an appropriate amount of cooking oil (it is recommended to use peanut oil, because the finished Hanaki tastes very fragrant.)
-
Spread the cooking oil evenly over the entire dough, and sprinkle an appropriate amount of flour on the cooking oil.
-
Mix the flour and cooking oil evenly to prevent the cooking oil from spilling when making the rolls.
-
Roll up the dough from one side into the shape as shown below.
-
After rolling it like this, prepare the knife.
-
Cut the rolled dough into shapes as shown in the picture.
-
Pick up a small cut piece and fold it in half from the middle as shown in the picture.
-
After folding, twist the two sides in opposite directions and pinch the twisted parts together.
-
This is the finished Hanamaki, ready to be steamed in the pot.
-
Because my flower rolls are small, steam them for ten minutes and then take them out to cool down. Get ready to enjoy the mellow wheat aroma.
