Healthy snacks ~ canned strawberries

Overview

Today is the beginning of summer, and it’s the season to eat strawberries again. This canned strawberry is a little summer dessert that my mother makes for me every year. It is soft, sweet and sour, and the most important thing is that it is healthy. There are no additives, only strawberries and rock sugar, not even water. It tastes super cool and reduces inflammation. The elderly and children at home love to eat it. Today I asked my mom how to make it and I tried it for the first time. It’s super simple. I hope you like it!

Steps

  1. Prepare the ingredients, wash and remove the stems of the strawberries. The amount of rock sugar will vary depending on the number of strawberries. The small pot of strawberries in the picture is suitable for the sour and sweet taste of my rock sugar. I only have so much rock sugar at home, so I add another spoonful of white sugar. It tastes better with rock sugar

  2. Prepare a pot that is larger than the pot and put water in it for steaming. It is better to have more water than too little. If it is steamed dry, the pot will be damaged

  3. Pour rock sugar into the strawberry basin, put the basin into a pot with water, and start steaming. Be careful not to fill the strawberries full, because strawberry juice will flow out during the steaming process

  4. I used the steam button on the induction cooker and steamed it for 20 minutes, which was just right. After steaming for about 15 minutes, you can check if the strawberries are soft and the strawberry juice is flowing out, and the rock sugar has melted, then you can turn off the heat

  5. This is the steamed state. You can eat it cool or put it in the refrigerator to refrigerate. Some of the strawberry juice will flow out, making it thicker, cold, sweet and sour. It’s great to eat in summer!
