Spicy Soda Bread
Overview
Soda bread is a traditional Irish bread. It is different from ordinary bread made with yeast. It uses soda powder and baking powder to achieve the leavening effect. Therefore, it does not require a long fermentation process and is quick to make. It is a kind of simple bread. Of course, the taste is also very different from traditional bread. It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and has a unique flavor.

Mix low-gluten flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

Add the softened butter and rub it evenly with your hands until the butter and flour are completely mixed

Pour in chili powder and fine sugar, mix well

Knead it with your hands until it becomes a wet batter. Knead for about 30 seconds

Divide the batter into 2 portions. Then pat some more dry flour on your hands and knead the batter into a round dough

Use scissors to cut a cross about 37.5px on each round dough

Place in a preheated 200° oven on the middle rack, with upper and lower heat, and bake for about 25 minutes, until the surface is golden brown
