Overview
Portuguese egg tart, also known as Portuguese cream tart, caramel macchiato egg tart, and Portuguese tart in Hong Kong and Macao, is a small buttery pastry pie, a type of egg tart, characterized by its burnt surface (caramel after overheating of sugar). Portuguese egg tarts are the most famous snacks in Macau. The egg tarts have a crispy meringue base and a soft egg yolk layer on top. They are both soft and soft, sweet and delicious.
