Braised tofu in gravy
Overview
Tofu likes oil. I still have a bowl of broth left over from my pork belly stew. It’s a pity to throw it away. It’s a bit greasy to keep for cooking, so it’s perfect for marinating tofu. The soybeans used to make tofu contain a substance called saponin, which can prevent atherosclerosis and promote the excretion of iodine in the body. I won’t go into details about the nutritional content of gravy here, everyone knows it.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Cut the northern tofu into triangular pieces about 1 cm thick, sprinkle with salt evenly, and marinate for 15 minutes.
-
Pour oil into a non-stick pan and when it is 40% hot, add the marinated tofu cubes.
-
Fry both sides until golden brown.
-
Take out the fried tofu. Pour the gravy into the pot, bring to a boil, and add the fried tofu.
-
Adjust the taste appropriately. If it is light, add salt. If it is salty, add sugar. If you like it a little spicy, you can also add red pepper or white pepper.
