Overview

The popular croquette is said to be a snack that was introduced to Japan from France and developed in Japan! Croquette is taken from the French croquette, which sounds like koroke in Japanese, which sounds like cola. In fact, the raw materials are potatoes, onions and minced meat, so it can be called potato pancakes.

  1. Prepare bread crumbs, eggs, and minced meat.

  4. Peel the potatoes and cut into slices.

  5. Steam in a pot over water. (I use the electric pressure cooker for about fifteen minutes)

  6. Press into puree while hot.

  7. While the potatoes are steaming, wash and chop the onions.

  8. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion and stir-fry until it changes colour.

  9. Add the minced meat and stir-fry for a minute or two and turn off the heat.

  10. Add the fried onions and minced meat to the mashed potatoes.

  11. Add appropriate amount of salt and black pepper, mix well, add a small bowl of flour, mix well, and freeze in the refrigerator for ten minutes. (In order to make the cake less moist when kneading it, you don’t need to freeze it)

  12. Beat the eggs in separate bowls and mix well, then add the flour and bread crumbs.

  13. Take it out of the refrigerator, apply some oil on your hands (to prevent it from being too sticky), take an appropriate amount of mashed potatoes and shape it into the shape you like.

  14. Coat the prepared pancake with a layer of flour.

  16. Coat it with bread crumbs and place it on a baking sheet (lined with oiled tin foil in advance). After making them in order, put them in the oven (preheat 180 degrees for ten minutes in advance), set the upper and lower layers to 200 degrees for 25 minutes, then adjust to 230 degrees and bake for another ten minutes.
