Honey Yam
Overview
Yam is a common food material that is rich in protein, carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene and vitamins and other nutrients, amylase, choline, mucus juice enzymes and diosgenin. The amylase, also called digestive enzyme, can decompose starch and other substances. If mixed with alkaline substances, the effect of amylase will disappear. It is tonic but not greasy, fragrant but not drying. Doctors in the past dynasties have praised yam as an important medicine for treating deficiency.
