French Rose Scones
Overview

Take 3g of Qingshan Laonong French rose, brew it into rose tea with 50ml of 80 degree hot water, cool it and set aside.

Grind the remaining 5g rose into a coarse powder with a grinder and set aside.

Weigh the flour, baking powder, and salt and pour them into a basin.

Mix the powder evenly and sift it once.

Add the sugar and softened butter to the flour.

Knead gently with both hands until the flour and butter are completely mixed into small, coarse granules.

Pour in the egg mixture without kneading.

Then filter the rose tea to remove the roses, and pour the tea into the dough particles.

Mix well with a rubber spatula to form a moist and sticky batter.

Pour the ground rose flowers into the batter and mix evenly.

Place the thick batter on a cling film-covered chopping board to prevent it from sticking. Dip your hands into some dry flour and use a rolling pin to shape the batter into a 1cm round cake.

Dip a knife in a little water and cut the round cake into 8 triangles.

Place the triangles on a baking sheet lined with greaseproof paper and brush with egg wash.

Preheat the oven to 195 degrees, middle layer, upper and lower heat, 20 minutes.
