Fried Osmanthus Rice Cake
Overview
The purely handmade rice cakes brought back from Jiangxi are stir-fried with sugared osmanthus made using local methods. They are really soft, fragrant and chewy.

Two rice cakes are ready

Cut into slices about 5 mm thick

Pour vegetable oil into a non-stick pan. When the oil is 7 minutes hot, add rice cake slices and stir-fry gently. Add some water from time to time to prevent the rice cake from being over-cooked

When the rice cake becomes softer, scoop in an appropriate amount of sugar-osmanthus and add some white sugar according to taste

Continue to pour in a little more water to dissolve the sweet-scented osmanthus and mix it with the rice cake

Take out of the pot and plate
