Unexpected frosted braided bread~
Overview
Finally, I made braided bread in the last few minutes of Mother's Day, as a last-minute gift for my mother and mother's mother. I will give them a wonderful morning tomorrow morning~~ Originally, it was supposed to be sprinkled with coconut milk, but it was not found, so I sprinkled it with powdered sugar, and then garnished it with parsley. Unexpectedly, when baked, a layer of white and crispy frosting was formed, which made the bread richer in taste and layering~ The soft bread body and crispy frosting, share it with everyone, try it!

Sift in the flour, add salt, sugar, a beaten egg, yeast, milk, and mix into a smooth dough. (I added 40g of sugar, but the sweetness after baking was lighter. If you want a stronger sweetness, you can increase the amount of sugar to 50g)
-
Then add butter that has softened at room temperature and continue kneading until it is smooth and elastic and the dough can be stretched out
-
Leave to ferment until doubled in size, which will take 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the temperature.
-
Deflate the fermented dough and knead it, then divide it into four equal-sized doughs
-
As shown in the picture, cut three slits into the dough for braiding. According to my habit, the leftmost one should be cut slightly wider so that it looks better when braided
-
Roll the three sides into a long strip, the longer the better, because it will shrink back, but be careful not to tear it
-
Turn it into a braid and press it tightly at the end. Be sure to press it tightly, otherwise it may fall apart when baked
-
Place in baking pan
-
Put it in the oven for secondary fermentation
-
After fermentation, brush with a layer of egg wash, and then sprinkle with an appropriate amount of powdered sugar. I thought it was too bare, so I garnished it with a little parsley, but you don’t need to put it
