Overview
Pearl meatballs, also known as coir raincoat meatballs, are a classic Hunan dish popular in Yueyang and Changsha. It means reunion and happiness, and is often used in red event banquets and New Year celebrations. The method is mainly made of soaked glutinous rice wrapped in meatballs and then steamed. It has a unique flavor, is fragrant, tender, fresh and delicious. Children especially love to eat, one bite at a time. But it is not recommended to eat too much, as glutinous rice is not easy to digest.
