Making rice cakes
Overview
Making rice cakes is actually eating glutinous rice balls dry. It can be made with glutinous rice flour, but I prefer to use glutinous rice. It happens to be a holiday, and my grandma’s house happens to have the tools so that the children can experience it in person. It is very meaningful! It’s just that I had to use so much force during the beating process that my hands were shaking when I was taking pictures. It tasted very soft and chewy, and the whole family was very happy!

Soak the glutinous rice overnight and steam it on the first morning.

The cooked rice is heated and put into the stone trough.

Take a heavy stick and beat it continuously until the rice is integrated and elastic.

Just make sure it doesn't stick to your hands.

According to your preference, you can wrap it with brown sugar and sesame seeds.

Finally, you can roll in a circle of fried soybean flour.
