Ancient sour plum soup
Overview
The traditional Old Beijing Sour Plum Soup is made from the sour and refreshing black plum, hawthorn to lower fat and blood pressure, licorice to nourish the skin, osmanthus to clear away heat and fire, and rock sugar to nourish the lungs. Roselle flowers and tangerine peel are also added here to increase the acidity. It is definitely a thirst-quenching drink exclusively for summer.

The main materials are ready.

Wash the black plum, hawthorn, tangerine peel, licorice and roselle with water and put them into the pot;

Add 1.5 liters of purified water and soak for 2 hours;

Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 30 minutes and add rock sugar;

Turn off the heat and filter, sprinkle with a little osmanthus and let cool or ice.
