Overview

These are the two largest pieces of the two kilograms of mackerel I bought for 10 yuan. I specially saved them for my father’s birthday last Saturday. I made steamed fish with chopped pepper and tofu. It is a very festive and auspicious dish, with red flowers and green willows, and fried golden and fragrant tofu. It is healthy and nutritious with less oil. The tofu is placed under the fish, absorbing the delicious taste of the fish. The homemade chopped chili is neither spicy nor salty, but has a rich garlic flavor. Both parents like it.

  1. Remove the scales and internal organs of the mackerel, wash it, and lightly marinate it with cooking wine to remove the fishy smell.

  2. Cut an appropriate amount of tofu into long strips about 5 mm thick and fry in the pan until both sides are brown and crispy.

  7. Pour in appropriate amount of steamed fish soy sauce.

  8. Bring water to a boil in a pot, steam over high heat for about ten minutes, until the fish is cooked, add coriander to the pot, and steam for another two minutes.
