Home version of salt-baked chicken legs

There was a special price on chicken drumsticks in the supermarket. I bought a lot of them and wanted to try various ways of making them.

Wash the chicken legs and set aside. No need to blanch them, just wash them a few times.

Cut the chicken legs a few times to make them more flavorful.

In order to make the color look better, I added some gardenia powder. The amount I used was a bit too much. This powder is particularly pigmented, so just a little bit is enough.

Add onion and ginger and marinate for two hours to remove the smell.

I made a mistake in this step. I should have taken out the onions before putting them in the pot, otherwise the onions would release water. Put a small amount of oil in the bottom of the pot, cut the ginger into thick slices and spread it on the bottom of the pot.
