Homemade Shaqima

Homemade Shaqima

Overview

This is my first time trying to make Shaqima. When I saw Junzhi making Shaqima before, I didn’t believe it. Oh my god, I can make this thing by myself. I didn’t expect that I would make it by myself today. Hahaha, although it is not perfect, because I was too impatient, I poured the embryos into the frying pan before the syrup was cooked, and it was not dry enough in the end. But it's also very thick. The taste can definitely beat any brand of Shaqima in the supermarket. I say this without any humility. The little friend gnawed one piece after another, and his uncle also said it was too thick, too thick. When Mr. Huang came back in the evening, he also exclaimed, you can make this too, it is so delicious, much better than the ones sold outside. Me, that's right. Now you finally know that you have married the best LP in the world.

  4. Sprinkle a little cornstarch on the countertop and roll out the rested dough into a sheet about 0.2 cm thick. (The dough is too big to roll out, so you can divide it into several portions)

  5. Cut the rolled dough into thin strips.

  6. Sprinkle the cut strips with some cornstarch to prevent them from sticking together.

  7. Pour an appropriate amount of frying oil into the pot and heat it until it is 50% hot. Add the thin strips into the pot in batches and fry until light golden brown.

  8. Fry all the thin strips and set aside. The bombing project is a bit huge, so just be patient.

  9. Then start cooking the syrup. Pour the fine sugar, water, and maltose into the pot and heat over low heat until the fine sugar dissolves and small bubbles appear in the syrup.
