Handmade Pumpkin Steamed Buns
Overview
It’s been a long time since I’ve made steamed buns. I’ve been buying a lot of pumpkins recently, so let’s make pumpkin steamed buns once. The golden exterior and soft interior are nutritious and healthy, not to mention how delicious they are

Main raw material pictures
-
Cut the pumpkin into small pieces, add a little water, cover with plastic wrap and put it in the microwave for a few minutes
-
Press the heated pumpkin into puree, or use a food processor to smash it. The pumpkin will be more delicate
-
Let the pumpkin puree cool and mix with flour and yeast
-
Knead slowly with your hands, knead the pumpkin puree into the flour. Do not add water first. Add more when it feels a little dry.
-
Knead it until it is shiny (surface gloss, pot gloss, and hand gloss). Cover with plastic wrap and leave it in a warm place to ferment
-
Just ferment until the dough is about twice the original size
-
Roll the dough into long strips and cut into even pieces
-
Then shape the dough into a round shape
-
Use a serrated knife to score lines on it (the score is a bit shallow and cannot be seen after steaming)
-
Grease a steamer with a little oil, put the dough into the steamer and cook for 20 minutes
-
Then steam over medium heat for 20 minutes (steam first and then uncover after 5 minutes)
