Overview

Because I really like eating cakes, I tried to make it in the simplest way. You don’t need baking powder or yeast, you can just use your own ordinary flour and a rice cooker!

  2. Process the egg yolk part first, beat the egg yolk with a whisk, then add 5 tablespoons of sugar and stir evenly. Pour in half a bag or carton of milk. While stirring, pour the household ordinary flour through the stuffing and continue to pour into the egg yolks, stir with a whisk until no flour particles are visible, and it becomes an egg yolk paste like this. Set aside.

  5. Now let’s start with the egg white part. Whipping egg whites is very important. If the egg whites are not whipped correctly, the cake will not rise. I use an electric egg beater to beat the egg whites. If you beat it manually, it will be tiring and takes a long time. Beat the egg whites for a while and add half a spoonful of sugar. Beat them again and add half a spoonful of sugar and a few drops of white vinegar (white vinegar can remove the egg smell). Continue beating for a while and then add half a spoonful of sugar (a total of one and a half spoonfuls of sugar were added to the egg whites, which was added three times).

  6. To check whether the egg whites are beaten successfully, you can insert a chopstick or a whisk into them to see if they fall down. If they stay upright and do not fall down, it means they have been beaten successfully. If they fall down after inserting them, you have to continue beating. As shown in the picture, if the egg beater does not fall over after inserting it, it means the egg whites have been beaten successfully. If you make it with 2 eggs, you should add a spoonful of sugar when beating the egg whites (also add the spoonful of sugar in three times).

  7. After the egg whites are successfully beaten, we need to start mixing the egg whites and egg yolks together. First scoop half of the beaten egg white into the egg yolk, and then be careful not to stir in circles. Stirring in circles will destroy the bubbles in the egg white and the cake will not rise. Flip up and down to mix evenly. (Or make cross cuts and mix evenly), then scoop out the other half of the egg white and mix evenly in the same way.

  8. The egg whites and egg yolks should be mixed evenly by turning them up and down, not in circles! After mixing successfully, it will be like this! Before putting it into the rice cooker to steam, you need to shake out the air bubbles. The method is to lift the inner pot slightly and then shake it with your hand. Repeat this a few times.

  9. Now we are ready to steam the cake. Take out the inner pot of the rice cooker and brush the inner pot with salad oil.

  10. Brush a little more salad oil. After brushing, there should be some excess oil inside the inner pot, otherwise it will be difficult to release the mold! Then put the inner pot back into the rice cooker and press to heat for about 2 minutes. Then take it out and iron it carefully. Use a rag to take out the inner pot.

  11. Pour the freshly made paste into the heated inner pot.

  12. I use a rice cooker like this and just press the Cook button until it cooks successfully. Then I use a wet rag to press the air outlet (the rag should not drip water) to simmer it for 20 minutes. During the cooking process, you can open the lid to check the condition of the cake, and it will not affect the cake. After 20 minutes of simmering, touch the cake gently or insert a toothpick into the cake. Take it out and see if the toothpick has brought out the structure of the cake. If the toothpick is clean, it's OK.

  13. If you are using a rice cooker with buttons like this, the method is as follows: Press the cooking button for 2 minutes and the rice cooker will automatically jump to the keep warm position. Then cover the air outlet with a wet rag and let it sit for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, it will automatically jump to the cooking stage. You can take the wet rag away. After about 2 minutes, it will jump to the keep warm position again. Just put the wet rag on the air outlet and let it sit for 20 minutes and it will be OK. (This process is to press the cooking button twice in total. As long as it jumps to keep warm, use a wet rag to insert the air outlet.) If your rice cooker does not jump automatically, then you have to control it manually.
