Pearl tofu balls
Overview
Tofu is added to the ordinary meat filling, which enriches the nutrition and taste. You can also add mushrooms, carrots, shrimps, etc. to the filling according to your own preferences. The white glutinous rice can also be replaced with black rice and purple rice. If you use white glutinous rice, it is recommended not to use dark soy sauce for the filling, so as not to affect the appearance of the finished product.

Soak the glutinous rice in water for half a day (more than 4 hours) in advance.

Add the onion and ginger water to the minced pork and stir well. Add salt, cooking wine, light soy sauce, and oyster sauce and stir evenly.

Slice the tofu and blanch it in a pot of boiling water, drain and chop into pieces.

Pour the tofu puree into the minced meat and mix well, then add the starch and mix well. Drain the glutinous rice.

Take an appropriate amount of minced tofu and form into medium-sized balls.

Roll a layer of glutinous rice grains on the surface, place it on a plate lined with oil paper (or place carrot slices on it to prevent sticking) and cook in sequence. Steam in a pot of boiling water for about 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
