Overview
Braised large intestine is a popular variety among traditional Chinese braised dishes. Many friends prefer this dish, and my husband is one of them. I will also take care of my husband’s hobbies and do it for him once in a while. But I don’t really like the taste of large intestine, but every time I see it tastes so delicious, I always want to try it. In order to make it more acceptable when eating, I specially added my own chopped chili pepper to the braised large intestine. This adds a spicy chopped chili flavor and retains the original taste of the large intestine. Moreover, the chopped chili pepper can not only eliminate the peculiar smell of the large intestine, but also reduce the greasy feeling of the large intestine. Even my husband said that it is delicious this way. This is also a small improvement on the traditional old dish, giving the old dish a new flavor.

I bought pre-cooked large intestine from Shuanghui. This kind of intestine is very clean before leaving the market. There is no fat in it and it is pre-cooked. But when I came back, I washed it and boiled it again with water and rice wine. This makes you feel more at ease

Put the cooked large intestine into a cooking pot, add peppercorns, star anise, bay leaves, nutmeg, cinnamon and other meat ingredients, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes

Finally, add salt and cook for 3 minutes. Do not take the cooked large intestine out of the stew. Cover it and let it soak for half a day to make it more flavorful
