Traditional British food: Shepherd's Pie
Overview
A very popular term in the modern West is called Comfort Food, which literally translates as comfort food. According to my understanding, it is actually the food that everyone thinks of when they feel unwell. Representatives of Chinese food are porridge, Yangchun noodles, etc. Among Western food, I will think of this dish - Shepherd's Pie. Many people have been misled by McDonald's when it comes to their impression of pie. Pie is actually more for sharing. We sit together, you take a spoonful and I take a spoonful and enjoy it happily. In terms of taste, it can be salty or sweet. As long as the surface is covered with a layer of crust, it can be called a pie.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Mince the beef and season with coarse salt, black pepper, chopped vanilla, cumin powder, bell pepper powder, and brown sugar.
-
Mix the bread crumbs/flour and milk evenly and marinate in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
-
In the meantime, we can prepare the ingredients: diced carrots, green beans, chopped onions, diced tomatoes and chopped mushrooms.
-
Heat a frying pan and add a small amount of oil.
-
Take out the minced meat and randomly shape it into small meatballs with your hands.
-
Then fry in a frying pan until golden brown on both sides.
-
Remember, don’t wash the pot! Don't wash the pot! Don't wash the pot!
-
Add chopped onions and chopped carrots in sequence.
-
Next comes the chopped mushrooms.
-
Finally, you can add the previously fried meatballs.
-
Add tomato paste (Tomato Paste) and O emergency sauce (Worcestershire Sauce) to taste.
-
If you like the meaty flavor, pour in the chicken soup. If you like the tomato flavor, pour in the tomato paste (not tomato juice)
-
After cooking until the sauce is thick, add the green beans.
-
After a brief stir-fry, transfer to an oven-safe ceramic basin.
-
Finally, let's prepare the mashed potatoes. Wash the potatoes and boil them in salt water for 35-45 minutes.
-
After tearing off the outer skin, press it into a puree while it is hot. Add sea salt, black pepper, butter, milk, grated cheese and mayonnaise, and stir until it is as thick as you like.
-
Then spread the mashed potatoes on the surface of the meat sauce. If you want to use a piping bag to embellish the mashed potatoes, remember to use a blender to beat it until smooth.
-
Place in a preheated 200C/400F oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the surface is golden brown. Due to the baking process, the meat sauce will boil, so try to choose a vessel with a certain depth.
