Overview
According to Chinese people's habits, autumn and winter are a good time to nourish the body, which is called winter nourishment. As a woman, the best supplement ingredient is donkey hide gelatin. Donkey-hide gelatin is a traditional blood-enhancing medicine. It has been a good tonic since ancient times. It has the functions of nourishing blood, stopping bleeding, nourishing yin, moistening dryness, nourishing blood, and preventing miscarriage. Today I made this traditional donkey-hide gelatin steamed paste, which is also very delicious and nourishing. Unexpectedly, it was a success the first time I made it. It tastes sweet, chewy and has a very good texture. Ejiao ointment is usually made by boiling it, but steaming it will have better nourishing effect, and the preparation is relatively simple.

Steps
-
Prepare the required ingredients: donkey hide gelatin, rice wine, black sesame seeds, rock sugar, wolfberry, walnut kernels, and red dates (wash, core and cut into pieces)
-
Put the donkey-hide gelatin tablets into a food bag and break into small pieces
-
Use a wall breaker to grind it into powder
-
Rock sugar is also beaten into powder
-
Pour donkey hide gelatin powder and rice wine into the basin, mix well, cover with plastic wrap and soak for more than 1 hour
-
Fry the black sesame seeds until cooked
-
Cut the walnut kernels into small pieces (you can do it without splits, it depends on your preference) and fry until cooked
-
The red dates are also slightly fried, which will make them sweeter and easier to preserve
-
Rinse the wolfberry with water
-
Then use kitchen paper to absorb the water
-
After the donkey-hide gelatin is soaked, pour in the rock sugar powder and stir evenly, then seal it with high-temperature-resistant plastic wrap (you can also use a suitable plate or lid to prevent distilled water from entering)
-
Put enough water into the steamer. After the water boils, add the processed donkey hide gelatin
-
Steam over medium heat for 40 minutes
-
Take it out after steaming for 30 minutes, add wolfberry, walnut kernels, red dates, and black sesame seeds and mix thoroughly, then put it back into the pot and steam for 10 minutes (to make the ingredients more integrated and also to sterilize)
-
Line the container with high-temperature-resistant plastic wrap and brush a layer of cooking oil on top
-
It is best not to pour the gelatin paste into a container immediately after it is steamed to prevent the temperature from being too high and burning the plastic wrap. It needs to be stirred continuously to lower the temperature. It can be poured into a container when it reaches about 60 degrees. Cover the surface with plastic wrap and press it flat with your hands. Let cool and then refrigerate for half a day or a day
-
Take out the hardened donkey-hide gelatin paste, remove it from the mold and slice or block it before eating
-
Be careful not to eat too much at one time
