Glutinous rice chicken is one of the common traditional snacks eaten by people in Wuhan. Wuhan's glutinous rice chicken has nothing to do with chicken. Some say that the fried glutinous rice chicken has an uneven appearance and is shaped like chicken skin. Another is that it is shaped like a chicken head. There is no research on why it is called this. I made a simple version of glutinous rice chicken by leaving the glutinous rice filling left over from making soda bags. The outer layer is crispy and the inner filling is soft and glutinous. It tastes good and is well received by my family.

  1. Add glutinous rice stuffing and chopped green onion and mix evenly.

  4. Mix flour + pepper + salt + egg liquid to make a batter.

  5. Put the prepared glutinous rice balls into the batter and wrap them well.

  6. Heat oil in a pot until it is 70% hot, add glutinous rice balls and fry until golden.
