Braised chicken feet in Siwu soup
Overview
Siwu Tang is a Han Chinese medicinal diet. A classic traditional Chinese medicine prescription for nourishing and replenishing blood, which is composed of four herbs: Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong rhizome, white peony root and rehmannia glutinosa. Siwu Decoction is a prescription handed down from traditional Chinese medicine. It was first recorded in the "Secret Prescription for Treating Injuries and Dipsacusae" written by Lin Taoist in the Tang Dynasty. Through practical application, the "Taiping Huimin Mixture Prescription" Siwu Decoction is currently widely used. Siwu Decoction uses four Chinese medicinal materials: Rehmannia glutinosa 12, white peony root 12, Angelica sinensis 10 and Chuanxiong 8. Generally speaking, it has the effect of nourishing blood and regulating menstruation, which can relieve women's menstrual pain. (Excerpted from Baidu Encyclopedia) Winter is here, so you can take a proper tonic. On the basis of Siwu soup, four red dates are added to make the taste less flavourful. I am a hot base, so I don’t dare to add more ingredients, just order as much as possible.

Steps
-
Wash and remove the nails from the chicken feet, blanch them in water, and rinse them when the foam comes out. Prepare the ingredients and remove the cores of the red dates;
-
The steam pot sits on top of the pot, and the pot is filled with half a pot of water. In order to make the pot not too dry and soak the ingredients, first put 1/4 cup of water. After the high heat is turned on, the water vapor rushes up from the hole in the middle, and there will be water;
-
Close the lid and turn on high heat;
-
After cooking for about 30 minutes, you can open the lid and check how much water is in the pot. If it reaches 1/2 of the pot, turn down the heat and slowly cook out the flavor of the medicinal materials. Also take care of the pot underneath, add water to the pot, and cook for another 15--20 minutes;
-
After the medicinal materials are fragrant, add the blanched chicken feet;
-
Then turn on medium heat and cook for about 20 minutes until the chicken feet turn yellow. It doesn't take too long. Large breed chicken feet are easy to cook. Just add an appropriate amount of salt to the soup when eating. It doesn't matter if you don't add it.
