Prepare materials

Use warm water of about 40 degrees for clean water. Pour the sugar into the water and stir until it melts.

Add yeast and stir to melt

Pour the stirred liquid into the flour and stir with chopsticks.

Stir into dough

Use your hands to knead the dough into a smooth dough.

Place the dough into a small bowl, cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm place to ferment

Ferment until doubled in size.

Sprinkle a little dry flour on the cutting board, take out the dough to fully deflate, and knead it back to its original size.

Take an appropriate amount of dough and roll it into three long strips of the same length and thickness

Connect the two ends of the long strip and arrange it into an oval. As shown in the picture. Put a red date at both ends.

Place it in a steamer and let it rise again until it becomes bigger

Pour cold water into the pot and steam over medium-high heat for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and simmer for about 3 minutes.
