Delicious and simple - Berlin fried balls

Overview

I am extremely lazy during this period. I just don’t want to do anything. I am sleepy in spring, fall, and fall asleep in summer. I am unable to wake up in winter and March. It is not my fault. Today I saw this bread ball from Yanse, and I suddenly wanted to try it, so my greed overcame my laziness~~~

Steps

  1. Make the seed dough: Mix water at about 20°C with yeast, sift in high flour, and mix into a dough that is slightly sticky. Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for about 1 hour. I put the basin in a pressure cooker with hot water and it was ready in 45 minutes.

  2. The fermented dough will double in size

  3. Put the other ingredients in the main dough except butter into the seed dough and knead it into a ball, then add softened butter and knead it into a smooth and elastic dough, and continue to ferment. Butter can be replaced with a flavorless cooking oil such as sunflower oil or corn oil. But the flavor will be missing the unique aroma of butter.

  4. Divide the risen dough into 20 portions, roll into small balls, and ferment for 1 hour. Spray water on the surface after a while to prevent it from drying out.

  5. Pour oil into the pot and turn on low heat. After the oil temperature reaches 160℃, put in the small dough and fry for about a minute on each side until both sides are golden. Remove the oil or use oil-absorbing paper to absorb the oil, then roll it in sugar. In fact, I boiled the syrup at the end and coated the bread balls with icing sugar like a caramel. It tasted like a crispy sugar shell on the outside, which was also delicious.
