Overview

Potato stewed with beans is an authentic Northeastern dish. Every summer when beans are in season, almost every family has to have a meal every three days. You can have potatoes, beans, pork belly. Stewed pork ribs with potatoes and green beans (classic), some may like to add some noodles or pancakes. It's delicious no matter how you eat it. What I made today was without meat but with the broth used to cook the elbow. Just as delicious!

  1. Add a small amount of warm water to the flour and set aside. (wake up)

  2. Remove the tendons from both ends of the beans, wash them and dry them. Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes and set aside

  3. Heat the pot and add oil (if you like meat, you can add some pork belly, so that the stewed beans will be very fragrant). Add onion, ginger, garlic, pepper and aniseed to the pot, then add the beans and stir-fry. Be sure to stir-fry the beans for a longer time. When the beans become soft, stir-fry the water in the beans as much as possible. The beans will be delicious after being stewed.

  5. Add soy sauce (some people like to add some bean paste), add less vinegar and cooking wine.

  9. Roll out the dough and follow the same procedure as making pancakes. If you want to have a layer, add more oil, overlap it back and forth, and roll it into a round shape

  10. Place the cake on top of the beans, and put some vegetable soup between the two cakes to add flavor and prevent sticking

  11. After all the cakes are placed, cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes. If there is too much soup, continue to stew. Don't have too much soup to make it taste better. If you want to collect the soup, you can take out the cake. Add some salt and chicken essence to taste.
