Wing-wrapped cheese

Wing-wrapped cheese

Overview

Remember the chicken drumsticks stuffed with rice and chicken wings stuffed with rice that I posted before? Before I invented this wing-stuffed cheese dish, my daughter loved to eat wing-stuffed rice. I once served wing-stuffed rice to my daughter’s classmates, and three of us ate 9 wing-stuffed rice. However, after eating this wing-stuffed cheese dish, my daughter announced that she was going to give up on the wing-stuffed rice and would only make it stuffed with cheese from now on! The method is not difficult at all. Just change the glutinous rice stuffed with chicken wings into cheese. The method is the same. This time I used a ready-made marinade for grilled wings. Students who are afraid of additives can go to my homepage or the public account Meiji to find the recipe for "Chicken Legs with Rice". You can prepare your own marinade. This time I chose Qixian's 1kg reed chicken wings. I used 2 packs of Orleans grilled chicken wing ingredients to marinate them all. I took out 8 of them to make this wing-wrapped cheese dish. The rest were frozen and stored. When you want to eat them, just take them out and bake them. In the video, there were 8 chicken wings stuffed with cheese, but only 6 were left when grilled. Because my little greedy cat couldn't wait for me to record the video, so he grilled 2 and ate them first.

Steps

  1. Prepare the ingredients and defrost the chicken wings.

  2. Use scissors to cut off the muscles at both ends of the chicken wing bones, peel the muscles off the bones, and pull out the big and small bones. Students who don’t know how to do this can go to my homepage or my public account “Meiji” to find the recipe “How to Debone Chicken Wings”.

  3. Squeeze out the water from the boneless chicken wings, pour in the Orleans grilled wing marinade, and pinch evenly. You can hold it for a while to make the juice seep into the chicken. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

  4. Roll the sliced cheese into a roll and cut into 2 sections with a knife.

  5. The openings at both ends of the chicken wings have different sizes. First seal the small end with a toothpick, then stuff the cheese roll from the large end. Fill the gap with mozzarella cheese, but don't fill it too full, otherwise it will burst when grilled.

  6. Then use a toothpick to seal the large end of the chicken wing. It is best to seal it tightly. My chicken wings wrapped in cheese leaked out a lot when they were baked, which was heartbreaking!

  7. Add honey to the remaining marinade juice and mix well. If the sauce is too much, pour out some and add honey, enough to brush the surface of the chicken wings twice.

  8. Line the baking sheet with tin foil for easy cleaning. Place the chicken wings on the grill, brush the surface with honey marinade, put it into the middle rack of the preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Turn it over and brush another layer of honey marinade on it, and continue to bake for 15 minutes.

  9. Full of cheese, bursting with juice in one bite!
