Mentaiko Pasta

Mentaiko Pasta

Overview

Pasta, also known as spaghetti. Regarding the origin of spaghetti, some say it originated from ancient Rome, while others say it was spread from China to the entire Europe via Sicily by Marco Polo. The difference between it and Chinese noodles is that the flour used is different. The pasta uses a kind of hard durum wheat, so it will not burn after being cooked for a long time. The dish Youyou recommends today is a delicious, healthy, and easy-to-make quick dish. I have been to many Italian restaurants, and the pasta I have tasted is not as good as the one made by Youyou yourself. Therefore, it can be said that among all the pastas, this one is Youyou’s favorite. Haha, try it if you have a chance!

Steps

  1. Prepare the materials first. It needs to be said that it is best to choose undyed mentaiko (generally, many mentaiko on the market are dyed. You can tell by looking at the ingredient list on the back of the product to see if it has added colorants. Eating dyed ones is not good for the body, so Youyou usually buys undyed ones).

  2. Take a clean pot, add water, pour a little olive oil (the purpose is to prevent sticking when cooking, the amount is about 1tsp), turn on the heat and wait until the water boils, then add the pasta. When you first put it in, use long chopsticks to stir it. When it boils again, reduce the heat to low. The pasta you buy only needs to cook for about 5 minutes (the cooking time depends on the thickness of the pasta you bought).

  3. While the noodles are cooking, you can prepare lemon juice and other pasta sauces at the same time. First cut the lemon in half, then use a manual juicer to squeeze the juice.

  4. Prepare a small bowl, pour 30g of olive oil, then 10g of lemon juice, add mentaiko, sprinkle with 1g of salt and pepper, and then sprinkle with chopped dried basil (the amount of basil can be adjusted according to preference), then stir evenly and set aside.

  5. Remove the water from the cooked pasta and put it on a plate, pour in the sauce from 4, and finally cut the seaweed into shreds (or you can use shredded seaweed directly). The ceremony is completed. When eating, mix thoroughly and enjoy.
