Ingredients
Steps
-
Dissolve the yeast with warm sugar water. If you don’t like sweetness, you can omit the sugar
-
Pour the melted yeast water into the flour
-
Add the pumpkin puree prepared in advance
-
Use chopsticks to stir into a fluffy shape and then knead it into a dough with your hands
-
The dough after kneading for the first time is not very smooth yet, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes
-
After waking up, knead the dough again into a smooth dough, cover it with plastic wrap and let it ferment in a warm place. The specific time depends on the weather. In summer, half an hour to 1 hour is enough. In winter, it takes about 2 hours. You can observe by yourself
-
The fermented dough has finished fermenting if it does not spring back when pressed with your finger, or if a honeycomb shape appears inside
-
Take part of the dough and divide it into small pieces, 6 pieces at a time
-
Roll out 6 small dumplings into round dough, about the size of dumpling wrappers
-
Arrange it as shown in the picture and press it in the middle with chopsticks
-
Roll up all the dough along one side
-
Use a knife to cut the rolled dough in the middle
-
Turn it over and arrange it into shapes. The rose buns are ready. Make the remaining noodles and steam them
-
Steam the prepared steamed buns in cold water for 15 minutes. When the time is up, turn off the heat and simmer for 10 minutes before opening the steamer to prevent the freshly steamed buns from shrinking when exposed to cold air
