I had some cornmeal at home and made a steamed cake, which tasted pretty good.

Soak the red dates for 20 minutes, wash and remove the core. Wash the raisins and set aside.

Dissolve the honey with a little warm water.

Heat the milk to over 30 degrees and add yeast to dissolve.

Put flour, cornmeal and raisins in a basin.

Pour the milk and honey water into the basin and stir into a thick paste.

Brush the 6-inch mold with a layer of oil to prevent sticking. Pour the batter into the mold and smooth it out with a spatula dipped in a little water.

Place in a steamer to ferment.

Ferment until doubled in size.

Sprinkle with red dates and raisins.

Turn on high heat and steam. After the water boils, steam for 30 minutes and simmer for 3 minutes before opening the lid.
