French fries

French fries

Overview

A few years ago, my boss at my old company told me that he would take his two children to KFC for a meal every weekend. Said they loved the chicken wings and fries. I was shocked after hearing this. Firstly, the frequency was too high, and secondly, his youngest daughter was only about three or four years old at the time. Sure enough, all the kids love it! My baby is less than three years old, so I don’t want to take her there to eat it yet, because I brought a big bag of potato chips from home to be processed, so I decided to make French fries myself and let my baby have a taste. The taste is no different from those!

Steps

  1. Two large potatoes (it is best to use slightly larger potatoes).

  2. Peel the potatoes and cut them into long strips about the size of your fingers (not too thin, otherwise they will be very thin and dry after frying) and soak them in water.

  3. Put an appropriate amount of water in the pot and add an appropriate amount of salt. After the water boils, put the potatoes in and cook for about three minutes (you don't need to overcook them, just be able to bite them off easily, otherwise they will easily stick to the pot when frying).

  4. Remove the boiled potatoes and drain them (drain should be relatively dry).

  5. Heat an appropriate amount of oil in a pot. When the oil temperature is about 80% hot, put the potatoes in and fry them. Use chopsticks to turn them from time to time, and the heat should not be too low. I fried them on medium heat throughout.

  6. Fry until golden brown, then remove and drain the oil.
