Overview

As a Changsha cook, I must know how to make the authentic Changsha snack of sugar-oiled daddy. It is sold by vendors outside. It is made by adding red sugar slices to the oil pan, deep-frying it and eating it directly. Mine is the home version, fried with sugar water after deep-frying, and it doesn’t get so hot

  1. Mix the glutinous rice flour with water and roll into small glutinous rice balls. After the oil is hot, fry the small glutinous rice balls until both sides are golden

  2. Make sugar water: put the red sugar into the water and slowly boil it, then add a small amount of white sugar

  3. When the sugar water is very thick, add the fried cakes and stir-fry. Take it out of the pan, plate it up, and enjoy the deliciousness while it’s hot
