Slice the hawthorn fruits and soak them in light salt water while cutting. Then blanch it in boiling water to remove the astringency.

Put it into a pot, add water just enough to soak the hawthorn fruits, and add sugar.

Bring to a boil over medium heat, then turn to minimum heat and simmer slowly for about two hours until the sugar water is thick and slightly thinner than honey.
