Osmanthus and Sour Plum Soup
Overview
Last month was so busy! It seems that there has been no update for more than half a month. . It’s starting to get back to normal this month~ Summer is here, let’s give you a bowl of sour plum soup to cool down! In the sultry weather in the south, food is often tasteless and drowsy. But you can’t always drink soda and eat popsicles in summer. Drinking more often makes you thirstier, which is not good for your health. So a few years ago, I started thinking about making sour plum soup. At that time, supermarkets didn’t even sell sour plum soup drinks. This optimal formula was finally determined last summer. The number of raw materials has been increased from the original four to seven now. A Crown Chinese herbal medicine seller in a certain store is still using my formula. With my amount, it’s no problem for the whole family to drink it for a day~ It’s very simple, so give it a try!

It's best to weigh it. If it’s not convenient to weigh them, you can match them according to the proportions in my pictures. Except for Roselle, all others can be bought in larger pharmacies (the kind that carry Chinese medicinal materials). Roselle is generally sold in larger supermarkets.
-
Use running water to wash away the floating dust on the surface of the medicinal materials (note: do not add osmanthus at this time, and add it after the osmanthus is cooked). Just rinse it and it’s ready. Don’t soak it at this time!
-
Put it into a gauze bag, or if you don’t have one, put it directly into a pot (anything except an iron pot is acceptable, but a casserole is best)
-
Add 3 liters of water and soak for half an hour. 3 liters of water is equivalent to two large bottles of Nongfu Spring, or six bottles of ordinary mineral water. After soaking, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and keep boiling for about 40 minutes. Turn off the heat, take out the packet (residues), add osmanthus and 150g rock sugar while hot, mix well and let cool naturally. Then put it into a container and put it in the refrigerator to chill~~
-
All the proportions are obtained through repeated experiments. 150g rock sugar, 3 liters of water and 77g of medicinal materials are boiled to taste sour and sweet in the mouth, and the tongue will salivate after swallowing. It tastes better than any drink! On a hot summer day, one mouthful or two flows into my heart like a sweet stream.

No more talking~~ Let’s do two bowls first!
