Honey Spicy Dried Tofu

Boil the brine first: 2 star anise, two or three bay leaves, small pieces of cinnamon bark, and 1 stewed meat packet. Add two large bowls of water and boil over high heat. Then reduce to low heat and simmer for 20 minutes

Cooked brine.

A large piece of northern tofu (about 500g)

Cut the tofu into slices first, then cut it into triangles at the diagonal corners, with a thickness of about 0.5 cm

Put oil in the pot, when the oil is hot, add the tofu cubes and fry over high heat.

Fry until golden brown and the tofu sticks float in the pot, take them out.

Pour out the remaining oil from the fried tofu sticks, add the fried tofu sticks, and pour in the cooked brine

Add sugar, rock sugar, salt and dark soy sauce, cook over medium-low heat for a few minutes

Cook until the soup is reduced and thicken with water starch. (

Reduce the juice over high heat and let the sauce coat the tofu wedges.

Sprinkle a handful of cooked sesame seeds and add three tablespoons of red oil

Stir-fry again and serve.

Finished product! Sweet, salty and slightly spicy!
