Overview
Steamed cured meat is a traditional local dish in Hunan, belonging to Hunan cuisine. It is usually made by putting cured pork, cured chicken, and cured fish in a bowl, adding chicken soup and seasonings, and steaming it. When eaten, it has a strong waxy aroma, is salty and sweet, is soft and not greasy. My daughter-in-law from out of town also tried out a new type of steamed steamed rice. I used dried tofu to get the flavor of the cured meat, and then added beer to mix it with the cured meat. The flavor is very unique, you can try it if you like it.
