Petal buns
Overview
I don’t have a baby yet. I think if my baby is picky in the future and doesn’t like to eat, I will make different kinds of food. I think she will like it very much!

Steps
-
Prepare all ingredients, flour, pumpkin, sugar, yeast, water.
-
Peel, wash and cut the pumpkin into cubes and steam it in a steamer for 8 minutes.
-
Divide the flour, yeast and white sugar into two parts, use one part for the white dough and the other part for the pumpkin dough. Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
-
Mash the steamed pumpkin into pumpkin puree with a small spoon.
-
Add sugar to the flour and prepare the dough. Here first make the white dough.
-
Make a small pit in the middle of the flour, pour in the yeast water, and add a little water as appropriate. (Don’t add too much water at once, you can add it little by little during the dough mixing process)
-
After the dough is mixed, the pot, hands, and dough should be light.
-
Put the mixed dough into a large bowl, put it into a steamer with water, cover the pot, turn off the heat for 2 minutes, and wait for 45 minutes to ferment. (The rapid fermentation method is used here)
-
Start making pumpkin dough in the same way as white dough. After pouring in the yeast water, add the pumpkin, but do not add water here because there is enough moisture in the pumpkin.
-
The pumpkin dough is ready.
-
Put the same into the steamer, cover the pot, turn off the heat for 2 minutes, and wait for fermentation for 45 minutes.
-
After 45 minutes the dough is ready to ferment.
-
The same goes for pumpkin dough. The fermented dough is 2-3 times the original size.
-
Please look at the picture, the fermented dough has a honeycomb shape inside.
-
Place the fermented dough on the board and continue kneading.
-
Knead the dough into a long shape.
-
Cut them into pieces, the pumpkin ones are slightly smaller than the white ones.
-
Roll the pumpkin into a round shape and the white one into a disc.
-
The white one covers the pumpkin.
-
Wrap it and then roll it into a round shape.
-
Press it gently with your hands.
-
Cut out 5 petals with a knife.
-
Gently twist the five petals 90 degrees in the same direction with your hands.
-
Before steaming the steamed buns, rub a little cooking oil on the steamer to prevent the steamed buns from sticking to the pan.
-
Put the steamed buns into the pot and steam for 10 minutes.
