Steps
-
Prepare materials, flour, pumpkin, sugar, yeast, water.
-
Divide the flour into two parts, use warm water to ferment the yeast, also make two parts. Peel, wash and cut the pumpkin into cubes.
-
Put the pumpkin in the steamer and steam for 8 minutes.
-
Mash the steamed pumpkin into pumpkin puree with a small spoon.
-
Prepare flour and dough, here is 200g flour, add 10g white sugar.
-
What is being kneaded here is white dough. Make a small pit in the middle of the flour, pour the yeast water, and then add some water appropriately. The water cannot be added at once. Avoid adding too much. You can add it little by little in the middle.
-
After the white dough is mixed, it should be light in the basin, light in hands, and light in surface. Set aside for 5 minutes.
-
After 5 minutes, put the white dough in a large bowl, put it in a steamer with water, then turn on the heat for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat and wait for 45 minutes. (This is a quick way to ferment dough)
-
Now we start making pumpkin dough. Add sugar, yeast water, and pumpkin puree to the flour. Be careful not to add water here, because there is enough water in the pumpkin.
-
After the pumpkin dough is mixed, let it rest for 5 minutes in the same way.
-
After 5 minutes, rise in the same way as the white dough, put it in the steamer, turn off the heat for 2 minutes, and wait for 45 minutes.
-
After 45 minutes, the dough has risen and is 2-3 times as big as before.
-
Same thing with pumpkin dough.
-
Please look at the picture, the risen dough has a honeycomb shape inside.
-
Place the risen dough on the board and continue kneading it. The longer you knead, the stronger the steamed buns will be.
-
Knead them into long strips respectively.
-
Then cut into equal size pieces.
-
Roll the white ones into thin slices and roll the pumpkin ones into round shapes.
-
As shown in the picture.
-
Then roll it into rounds.
-
Use a knife to make a cross in the middle.
-
You can put it in the steamer. Remember to rub a little cooking oil in the steamer before putting the steamed buns in to prevent the steamed buns from sticking to the pan. Steaming time is 10 minutes.
