  1. Soak the red dates in water for 2 hours in advance.

  11. Preheat the oven, add a few drops of lemon juice or white vinegar to the egg whites, and beat at high speed.

  16. Pour into an eight-inch square plate lined with greaseproof paper, shake out any bubbles, and place in the preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for about 40 minutes.
