【Henan】Crispy grilled dried buns
Overview
Henan people love to eat steamed buns. We don’t call them steamed buns here, they call them steamed buns. When I was a kid, I loved going to my grandpa’s house. At that time, the coal stove in my grandpa’s house was a handmade one with a large stove top that could hold a small stool for people to sit on. In winter, when it was cold, my grandparents would put a small bench on the stove and let me warm myself by the fire. I also cut the steamed buns into slices. My grandpa had a homemade wire rack, and the steamed bun slices were slowly baked on it until they were brown, and then they were given to me. Although the steamed buns were baked without adding anything, I felt that roasted steamed buns were the most delicious thing. When Accord grew up, he would go back to his grandparents and ask for baked buns to eat. Nowadays, I rarely eat baked steamed buns. The other day my sisters were chatting about their childhood together. When they talked about my grandparents’ roasted steamed buns, I suddenly felt a special craving for them and wanted to feed them to my children, so I made this steamed buns. I'm just afraid that the children are eating too much now and have no interest in baking dried buns, so I use eggs and milk powder to make dough, and brush oil and seasonings when baking. The baked buns are very crispy, and they are really popular after baking. I originally planned to give it to the older children, but who knew that my grandson who was just two years old also wanted to eat it, and even wanted to eat a piece. Seeing them eating happily made me feel happy. I think my grandparents would have had the same feeling when they baked it for us and watched us eat it!
