Smile
Overview
I usually make some Western-style desserts such as breads and cakes. During the Chinese New Year, I always feel that I should eat traditional Chinese snacks to celebrate the occasion. Today I tried making a smile. Unexpectedly, it was welcomed and praised by everyone! In fact, this snack would look better with white sesame seeds. Since I only had black sesame seeds at home, I had to use them. The taste is the same, but the black sesame seeds make the finished product look darker.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Put eggs, water, and corn oil into a bowl and mix well
-
Add sugar and stir until sugar melts
-
Mix the two flours, add baking powder and soda powder, sift into the liquid stirred in the previous step
-
Knead into a dough and let it rest for 15 minutes
-
Take a small ball of dough and roll it into long strips as thick as your fingers
-
Cut into small pieces
-
Knead it into a round ball the size of a nickel with your hands. The ball should not be too big, because when it is fried, the noodles will swell to a certain extent and it is easy to not be fried
-
The rolled balls are evenly coated with sesame seeds
-
Put oil in the pot and fry the balls covered with sesame seeds at about 100℃. Keep the heat low during the whole process, otherwise it will be easy to not fry thoroughly
-
Fry until golden brown, break into pieces and there is no soft core in the middle
-
Take out, drain the oil and let cool
