Overview

It was the first time I made red bean cakes and I had no experience. I rolled the pastry too thin and it didn’t taste like layers of crispy cakes, only a mouthful of red bean fillings. Although the crust is thin and the filling is large, it tastes very good. I have to improve it next time and make the skin thicker.

  6. Mix 100 grams of pastry ingredients and 50 grams of lard.

  7. Knead continuously until it forms a ball.

  9. Take a piece of dough and roll it into a round shape. Place the pastry dough on top of the dough and roll it up.

  13. Rotate the rolled dough 90 degrees and roll it into shape again.

  14. Roll up again from top to bottom, cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 15 minutes.

  15. Roll the red bean filling into a round shape.

  16. Take a piece of puff pastry and roll it into a round piece, then put the red bean filling in it.

  17. Place the collar downwards.

  19. Then brush with egg wash and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
